With its many walks and easy access to blue flag beaches such as Croyde, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe, North Devon offers something for everyone. Whilst in Combe Martin you may want to visit the local museum, sample the local Fish and Chips restaurants, or visit Indicknowle farm to sample local produce. For the more adventurous person, paddle board or Kayak hire is available.
Ilfracombe, which is a short journey away is a bustling small pretty harbour town. Visit Verity the famous sculpture by Damien Hirst, or the hand carved beach tunnels from 1820. Any golf enthusiasts will love a round or two at Ilfracombe golf club.
If you don’t feel like cooking, Barnstaple offers plenty of restaurants and bars for you to enjoy. It also offers an indoor market, or larger stores such as Marks and Spencers. The Hunters Inn pub is a lovely place to start your walking journey through the woods to the rocky beach at Heddon Valley.
Dubbed ‘Little Switzerland’ Lynton and Lymouth is a picturesque spot to explore with its twin villages. Walk the Valley of the Rocks, or visit the popular Cliff Railway. This also has a quaint cinema within the town hall of Lynton.
